Match Report U10's - 3/10/2021

Updated: Feb 27, 2022

U10’s EIHA Fixture at Solihull Planet Ice - 3rd October 2021

Result 1st Match - MK Storm Lost

MK Storm vs Peterborough

MK Storm hit the ice with fantastic enthusiasm and speed, unfortunately leading to a false start!

However, this did not stop the determination in the hearts of MK Storm with Ayres, C Calvert, Jordon and Willimott working hard on defence as Peterborough scored their first goal.

This didn’t deter MK Storm from keeping the pressure on Peterborough with excellent defending from Tonks. MK Storm’s possession with attack and defence was amazing as Nüth came in with four great goal attempts, leading to Nüth passing to Iacono, who was assisted by Ding, who then scored making it 1 all @ 8 minute & 20 seconds. Willimott quickly picked up the pace, assisting Jordon with an excellent long shot.

Peterborough quickly pushed forward with extraordinarily strong defence continuing to work MK Storm hard which didn’t seem to bother us as Jordon and Ayres brought the puck down for C Calvert to come in from the left and score the teams second goal. The goalie worked extremely hard for MK Storm as he was loaned from Solihull, so a noticeably big thank you for his challenging work.

Result 2nd Match - MK Storm Won

MK Storm vs Coventry

Once again this saw MK Storm come out against 3 of the brotherhood in the form of Nettey, Pond and Kenton who were out on loan to support Coventry, this didn’t seem to bother them.

Coventry came in hard on MK Storm leading to Tonks coming off with an elbow injury, this didn’t stop MK Storm putting some distance between them and Coventry.

A great attempt from Nüth at the halfway line, lead to M Calvert scoring his first goal. Iacono continued to support and cover the 3rd line with defence and stability.

McEwan taking a hit to the leg from Coventry left MK Storm to pick up the puck and C Calvert scored with an assist from Jordan.

MK Storm’s possession and control throughout the game was phenomenal, even with injuries occurring, this did not leave them feeling defeated but more intent on winning the game, bagging one final goal for the win.

Result 3rd Match - MK Storm Won

MK Storm vs Solihull

MK Storm made this a fast but tense game with line 1 working hard making Solihull play defensively while Jordan and Willimott clearly caused problems for the Solihull backline with their speed while using neat passes through to Jordan who quickly scored the goal with the assistance of Ayres.

MK Storm now finding Solihull’s flaws set about picking up more on the attack side of the 2nd line with Tonks giving an amazing attempt which saw Pritchard nicely tuck away their 2nd goal.

The heat was now on for Solihull as they were 2-0 down, their attack strategy became more intense leading to Ayres being injured allowing Solihull to safely slot a goal in with only minutes to spare.

C Calvert was named Player of the Game for his dedicated team work and strong attack skills.

Well done MK Storm U10's, you make all of us Mum’s, Dad’s and Grandparent's immensely proud, keep up the excellent playing!
