U10’s EIHA Home Fixture at Milton Keynes Planet Ice - 5th February 2022


Thanks to all the team managers, coaches, refs, parents and helpers of MK Storm, that made this happen, it couldn’t without you. Fantastic team effort.



Result 1st Match - Draw

MK Storm vs Haringey

Powerful skating from Ayres gave MK Storm an early lead assisted by a 1:2 from Jordan and McEwan to break a tight few shifts.


Haringey responded with a strong shot into the bottom corner to equalise. It could have been more if not for good reactions from Pinto.


With a few minutes to go a lovely assist through from Iacono to Pond put MK Storm in the lead but Haringey responded to tie the game.

Result 2nd Match - MK Storm Won

MK Storm vs Slough

Jordan broke the deadlock after a few minutes with a lovely skilful break-away goal. A few mins later linking up nicely, C Calvert hammered the puck home to give MK Storm a good lead.


The next lines increased the leads with M Calvert taking advantage of some loose play with an accurate slot into the bottom corner.


McEwan capitalised and caused problems for the other teams all afternoon, with rapid play and skating on the flanks with two quick succession goals. Nüth continued with the pressure as he double shifted and finished home with a clever flick into the top corner.


Tonks and Nettey on their last shift finished with clever skills, powerful play and passing, both slotted home with Nettey driving his way through the Slough team and Tonks hitting home his characteristic power slap shot into the Slough net.

Result 3rd Match - MK Storm Lost

MK Storm vs Haringey

Ayres, Jordan, Ding and Nüth volunteered to be loaned out to help Haringey with a short bench.


The Mk Storm loanees caused havoc for the Storm team with all loanees getting assists and goals.


Pond responded to rescue a goal and keep the fight going for MK Storm, but it was in vain.

Great battle and high fives at the end of the game.

Result 4th Match - MK Storm Won

MK Storm vs Slough

Nüth scored first with skilful speed and accuracy moving his way through the Slough line and finishing into the bottom corner.


C Calvert hammered home another from distance on the edge of the offensive zone. Slough bravely fought back and finished into the net after some last gasp defending and challenges from Dudley and Kenton that broke the play and allowed MK Storm to counter attack with a nice slotted pass through the gap.


After a hard fought 10 mins Jordan and C Calvert broke them down with Ayres continuing to pick up the puck in the defence zone and 1:2-ing with McEwan saw Jordan finish home and take the lead.


Just when the game buzzer was about to go Nüth broke away and calmly finished to seal the win for MK Storm.

Player of the Game

A collaborative performance across the games that could have seen a few obtain player of the tournament. Coaching staff selected the following:

McEwan for the impact over the games in terms of assists and goals.


Spirit of the Game

Dudley for working hard in his first game and putting in 100% effort.
