MKJIHC Safeguarding

Milton Keynes Junior Ice Hockey Club is committed to the safeguarding and well‐being of all its members.

Safeguarding must not be seen in isolation and is an integral consideration of all aspects of running and managing our club. This includes leadership, planning, scheduling, coaching and managing.

All of our coaches, managers and off-ice officials hold a Disclosure & Barring System ‘DBS’ certificate.

Our Designated Safety Lead (DSL), (position vacant)
, has responsibility for all matters relating to child safeguarding, including:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for anyone in the club (club committee, team staff, parents or players) who has a concern about a child and about possible abuse or poor practice by adults working with children

  • Assisting in raising of awareness of others at the Club in respect of child protection

  • A source of advice and information within the Club

  • Ensuring confidentiality, as far as practical, in all child protection matters

  • Liaising with the English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) Welfare Office when appropriate

If you would like to contact the club in relation to any of the above items you can contact us via email dsl@mkjihc.co.uk
